Lunar Crystals

The moon represents emotion and powerful instincts, patterns, ancestral and karmic inheritances. For all moon signs it is recommended to meditate with a bloodstone at the full moon to uncover hidden unfulfilled desires that are controlling your life.

It is possible to reprogram patterns of behavior and facilitate healthy sources of nurturing.

The Zodiac Ascendant is the mask of our personality.

Sagittarius Ascendant

Spontaneous, curious, likes to travel, meets new situations with enthusiasm.

Topaz

Fills life with joy, highlights goals, helps with state of being, increased confidence.

Herbalism

"These are the things I know: You always throw spilled salt over your left shoulder, plant rosemary at your gate, keep lavender for luck and fall in love whenever possible." ~Alice Hoffman, Practical Magic

Caynenne Pepper (Capsicum minimum) Used extensively by Mayan and Aztec. Nourishes the heart, removes plaque from the arteries, help rebuild flesh destroyed or harmed by frostbite, heal hemorrhoids, re-build stomach tissue, heals stomach ulcers. Good for circulation, equalizes blood pressure, used for gall bladder. Antifungal. Used as a rubefacient for lumbago, rheumatic pains. Dosage: Pour a cup of boiling water onto ½ to 1 tsp of Cayenne, infuse for 10 minutes. A tablespoon of this infusion should be mixed with hot water and drunk when needed.

Yoga

The two forces of mind and prana maintain the rhythm of life and consciousness. Everything in the universe is evolving. Matter in its ultimate form is energy. The goal of yoga is to turn the body into solid energy. – Hatha Yoga Pradipika

Utkatasana, The Chair posture

  • Strengthens gluteal, thigh, abdominal and back muscles. Strengthens the ankles and feet, while stretching the calve muscles.
  • Cautions include recent chronic injury to hip, injury to the knees, chronic headaches, insomnia should avoid this posture.
  1. In Tadasana or Mountain pose, find equal weight on all corners of the feet. Inhale to bring the arms up overhead, moving the upper arm-bones up and back.
  2. Turn the palms to face each other, or place the palms in prayer. Exhale to bend the knees as though sitting in a chair.
  3. Track the knees over the toes and in line with the hips. Maintain a neutral spine by dropping the tailbone down and drawing the pubic bone towards the navel. The torso will be perpendicular to the thighs.
  4. Stay for 5 deep breaths.
  5. To come back to standing, inhale to straighten the legs and exhale to release the arms to the side of the body. Counter poses include Tadasana and Uttanasana.
Poetry

The Onset by Robert Frost
By Simran Khurana, About.com Guide

Always the same, when on a fated night
At last the gathered snow lets down as white
As may be in dark woods, and with a song
It shall not make again all winter long
Of hissing on the yet uncovered ground,
I almost stumble looking up and round,
As one who overtaken by the end
Gives up his errand, and lets death descend
Upon him where he is, with nothing done
To evil, no important triumph won,
More than if life had never been begun.

Yet all the precedent is on my side:
I know that winter death has never tried
The earth but it has failed: the snow may heap
In long storms an undrifted four feet deep
As measured again maple, birch, and oak,
It cannot check the peeper's silver croak;
And I shall see the snow all go down hill
In water of a slender April rill
That flashes tail through last year's withered brake
And dead weeds, like a disappearing snake.
Nothing will be left white but here a birch,
And there a clup of houses with a church.

Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl
With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there
She would merengue and do the cha-cha
And while she tried to be a star, Tony always tended bar
Across a crowded floor, they worked from 8 till 4
They were young and they had each other
Who could ask for more?

At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa....they fell in love

(Copa Copacabana)

His name was Rico, he wore a diamond
He was escorted to his chair, he saw Lola dancin' there
And when she finished, he called her over
But Rico went a bit too far, Tony sailed across the bar
And then the punches flew and chairs were smashed in two
There was blood and a single gun shot
But just who shot who?

At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa....she lost her love

(Copa. . Copacabana)
(Copa Copacabana) (Copacabana, ahh ahh ahh ahh)
(Ahh ahh ahh ahh Copa Copacabana)
(Talking Havana have a banana)
(Music and passion...always the fash--shun)

Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl
But that was 30 years ago, when they used to have a show
Now it's a disco, but not for Lola
Still in the dress she used to wear, faded feathers in her hair
She sits there so refined, and drinks herself half-blind
She lost her youth and she lost her Tony
Now she's lost her mind!

At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa....don't fall in love

(Copa) don't fall in love
Copacabana
Copacabana
Repeat till end.
