Basil (Ocimum basilicum)

Used to treat stomach cramps, sickness, fevers, colds, flu, headaches and menstrual pain. Dosage: Pour a cup of boiling water onto 1-2 tsp of the dried herb and infuse 10-15 minutes, drink x 3 a day.

Simhasana (Lion pose)

• Alleviates throat, mouth, nose and ear diseases 

1. Keep the left foot under the right buttock so that the heel presses the right side of the perineum or in women it will press the right side of the vagina.
2. Place the right foot in the same manner, pressing the opposite side of the perineum or vagina, so that the feet cross each other. Flexible feet and ankles are required for this position.
3. Place the palms of the hands on the knees and spread the fingers apart. Bend the head forward into semi-jalandhara bandha and focus the eyes on the nose tip in nasikagra drishti.
4. Open the mouth wide and extend the tongue as far as possible. Traditionally this pose is performed outside in the rising sun.
